Every tooth has a nerve and blood supply that provides the tooth nutrients. When a tooth has disease due to decay or trauma that nerve can become infected. Root Canal Therapy is done when a tooth has disease extending to the nerve of the tooth that causes infection. The procedure involves removing the diseased nerve tissue and decay and replacing it with a material that will allow the tooth to heal. In most cases the decay and disease also damages the surrounding tooth structure. In these cases the tooth often has to have the missing tooth structure built up again and a crown or filling placed over root canal.
Tooth extractions may be recommended due to extensive disease in the tooth or supporting structures or due to restorative/orthodontic needs. In any case we will handle your needs and offer ways to replace your missing teeth so that you retain the function of your teeth.
Prior to finding Dr. Mashni I probably had seen at least 10 different dentists in my life and pretty much didn't care for any of them. What a difference here. The staff are all extremely friendly, courteous, punctual and go out of their way to make the patients comfortable...They offer headphones with relaxing music so you don't hear the drill, and stuffed animals for the kids to hold...They all take the time to answer all your questions, to explain everything they are going to do before they do it and just go out of their way to make you comfortable. I couldn't recommend anyone more!
